Stellenblog party 2017 - why you should #visitstellenbosch

More than 200 guests and Influencers gathered at Jordan Wine Estate, 8 May 2017, to celebrate Stellenbosch as a tourist destination at the #BlackMagic themed party for Stellenblog.

"Stellenblog is a blog about Stellenbosch. Stories on things to do, places to see, wines to drink and where to eat. Contributed by the people who know best: The locals."

Get real-time, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feeds from people who are actually already there - the locals! I met with the Minister of Tourism, James Vos, who explained that South Africa is the 8th largest producer of wine in the world and that the Cape Region alone has over 580 wine farms and more than 4500 independent producers. That's massive!

"The Stellenbosch winelands are situated on the Southern tip of Africa, less than 30 minutes from Cape Town International Airport."

Stellenbosch is South Africa’s second oldest town yet today, it has managed to stay vibrant and youthful thanks to the local university, award winning wines and delicious, gourmet food!

And when I say South African, I really mean it! One of my favourite farms, Middelvlei put a spell on us with their amazing braai broodjies (a local favourite cheese sandwich made on the BBQ) and Boerewors (a mince meat like sausage). Freshly cooked right in front of you overlooking amazing views of the Stellenbosch valley. What a great atmosphere!Another favourite wine of mine is of course Lanzerac's Chardonnay - oh so chilled on ice! From such a classy farm, you wouldn't expect anything less than these amazingly presented canapes from the Hotel. There was not only wine and hotels, but 12 year old Brandy from Van Ryn's. Served with gold dusted chocolate truffles!Unsure where to start? Bites & Sites tours will have you sorted! Hope on one of their tour buses and let them entertain you with the best foodie places! And if it's accommodation you are looking for... Devon Valley Hotel, Erinvale Hotel, Oude Werf Hotel and Lanzerac Hotel offer world class relaxation. What an exceptional experience! The sunset was magnificent!Cheers with Vibrazio from the House of J.C. Le Roux. And cheers to Destinate PR for organising this fab event! :)x
