No 25. Stellenbosch Vineyards - Stellenbosch
Yay! Wine farm number 25 already! Meet Stellenbosch Vineyards. #DoStelliesDid you know that Stellenbosch Vineyards is one of the largest wine producers and exporters in South Africa?
I have rated this wine farm experience 2.5 star.
I arrived quite late around 15h00 on a Sunday and it was empty. Overall I just thought that this wine farm could do with a re-fresh as it felt quite dated, stiff and uncomfortable.I would like to give it another try on a different day and time to re-evaluate this blog post because the reviews on Trip Advisor are very good.On this visit I only tasted some of the entry price point wines but in the past i have tasted their flagship wines (the 2014 Pinotage was to die for).

Here is my experience:
This is the Bistro which overlooks a lake. For my liking, the furniture is too plastic and hard and the decor was quite cold. This is the tasting bar and I really liked this decor. It was modern with an african twist. These are the bar stool tables where I experienced the wine tasting. It was not very comfortable for me unfortunately. There is a nice lounge area around the back which will work nicely for the winter months. This is the Arniston Bay Infusions Sparkling Wine which my friend Stacy loved.it is an interesting concept because it is very light in alcohol at only 5.5%. It is quite sweet and has wonderful aromas of pomegranate and roses.I would recommend this wine for young people who are just starting to drink wine. Only R45 a bottle and lots of bubbles! This is the Welmoed range Brut Sparkling wine for R65 a bottle. It is a very light brut with flavours of tropical fruit, green apple and lemon grass. The Infinity Brut MCC had a lovely colour and was well rounded. On the palate, you will experience warm toast, hazelnuts, almond and citrus flavours.56% Chardonnay, 39% Pinot Noir and 5% Pinot Meunier.R140 a bottle. The Welmoed Rosé had red and blackberry flavours. This Rosé is 100% Shiraz and has had 8-12 hours skin contact. It is a fresh, easy drinking wine that is crisp and has good acidity that resembles strawberries.Only R45 a bottle. It is really a pity that I didn't get to taste the estate range too so I will have to go back :)For more information on Stellenbosch Vineyards, click here.
