Steenberg Hosts a Women’s Day Event for Changemakers

STEENBERG Bistro Sixteen82 Womens Day Event

Steenberg is hosting a Women's Day event on 22 August to honour the dynamic women who are making a huge difference across the Cape Peninsula and beyond. This special Women’s Month celebration is all about recognising these incredible changemakers.

A Legacy of Pioneering Women

Steenberg Farm, founded by Catharina "Tryn" Ras, who became Southern Africa's first female landowner in the 1700s, is the perfect spot for this celebration. With its rich history and pioneering spirit, Steenberg is the ideal place to raise a glass for South Africa’s changemakers and all women who are making a difference.

A Night to Remember at Bistro Sixteen82

The Women’s Day event will be held at the estate’s Bistro Sixteen82 restaurant. Guests will be treated to Steenberg’s iconic bubbly and a delicious three-course dinner. Throughout the evening, you'll hear about Tryn Ras’s amazing story and incredible legacy, along with a panel discussion showcasing women's incredible impact in South Africa today.

Meet the Changemakers

The evening’s panel features some amazing women, including social commentator Lisa Sonn, Georgina Rae Bennet, director of the sustainable fashion brand Style Rotate and the arts enrichment initiative Safe Study, and Jillane Jacobs, founder of JLK Integrated Care, an NPO offering midwife-led community care programmes and training. These inspiring women will share their life experiences, showing why women are such powerful forces in our society.
