Journey’s End Brut Reserve Cap Classique perfect for Autum

My birthday's coming up and you know what that means...yes, lots and lots of Cap Classique. I begin with a Journey’s End Brut Reserve Cap Classique which is one of the most perfect bottles for Autumn because of the tasting notes profile.

Journey’s End Brut Reserve Cap Classique Tasting Notes:

The Journey’s End Brut Reserve Cap Classique is a blend of 66% Pinot Noir, 33% Chardonnay, and surprisingly 1% Pinot Meunier.

Experience notes of citrus and pear (glorious for autumn), harmoniously balanced by hints of crushed almonds and creamy biscuit undertones. Its full-bodied complexity is complemented by a refreshing zestiness, courtesy of its naturally racy acidity and delicate fruitiness.

Served chilled, it shines as a standalone aperitif and pairs flawlessly with the indulgent decadence of oysters (also a favourite pairing of mine).

From Vineyard to Cellar

Collaborating closely with the esteemed Grier family of Villiera, the Journey’s End team hand-selects the finest grapes from cooler-climate vineyards in the Stellenbosch region. Harvested early in the season, these pristine grapes undergo a gentle pressing process before fermentation and maturation. After a secondary fermentation in the bottle, lasting six weeks, the Cap Classique matures gracefully in contact with the lees for approximately 18 months, enriching its flavour profile with depth and complexity.
