HEINEKEN Beverages Scores Four Awarded South African Wines In Their Stable

HEINEKEN Beverages is capturing South Africans’ hearts, including mine, with four of its awarded South African wine brands earning seven trophies at the prestigious 2024 Trophy Wine Show, sponsored by Investec. These recognised brands are household staples, namely, Nederburg, Durbanville Hills, Pongrácz, and J.C. Le Roux. I was fortunate to taste some of these lekker wines. Here’s more info…

The Trophy Wine Show: A Prestigious Competition

The Trophy Wine Show is one of South Africa’s most esteemed wine competitions, awarding gold to less than 5% of this year’s entries. Michael Fridjhon, convenor and chair of the event for over 20 years, highlighted its significance in a recent Business Day column, noting that Jancis Robinson, one of the world's top critics, has called it "possibly the toughest wine competition in the world."

I was lucky to attend one of the tasting events and I can say that only the best of the best South African wines are represented here!

HEINEKEN's Commitment to Quality

Kavir Gangiah, leader of HEINEKEN Beverages’ wine category, expressed pride in the panel’s recognition, stating, “Attention to detail from the soil to the bottle is central to our ethos, spearheaded by our extraordinary winemaking teams. You’ll find it in every wine we make.”
