A Lekker South African Wine for a Lekker Braai
There’s nothing quite like the smell of meat cooking over a wood fire, the laughter, the music, the rugby and good company - a lekker South African braai. Sometimes these braai’s happen on a whim and sometimes they are planned in advance but I always like to plan. That’s why I always have a case or two of good wine that will pair well with braai meats and salads without breaking the bank. The Bruce Jack Reserve Collection is a great option to have in your cellar and retail for around R150 a bottle / $8.55 / £6.60 / €7.85*

Bruce Jack Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2021
Winemaking: The wine undergoes fermentation with extended lees contact to bring out the complexity and vibrant aromatics of South Africa’s coastal vineyards.
Tasting Notes: With a nose of fig and cape gooseberry, this Sauvignon Blanc bursts with lively notes of green apple, nectarine, and freshly cut grass.
Food Pairing: Perfect on its own as a sundowner, or paired with seafood, vegetarian dishes, or goat’s cheese.
Award: Honoured with a Double Gold medal at the Michelangelo International Wine and Spirits Awards, this wine is truly special.
Bruce Jack Reserve Stream of Consciousness 2021
Winemaking: This Rhône-style red wine blends Cinsault, Shiraz, and a touch of Grenache, fermented with a combination of cultivated and wild yeast. Aged in barrels for 12 months, the result is a bold, expressive wine with depth.
Tasting Notes: Experience a hedonistic blend of chocolate-smothered purple plums, vanilla, and Indian spices, followed by rich black and red forest fruit with a hint of white pepper.
Food Pairing: Ideal for a braai, this wine also complements Moroccan lamb, Indian curries, rich pasta dishes, and charcuterie.
Award: Recognized in the 2024 edition of “100 AWEsome Wines” by the Association of Wine Educators.
