Wine farm 60 of 800 is Bilton Wines in the Stellenbosch Wine Routes. What a great winter destination (fire place!) plus it has a pretty good function venue.  For all the parents out there, this is also a great kid-friendly wine farm as there is a jungle gym within eye sight. Enjoy the chocolate and wine paring (three wines) for only R50 per person.BOOKINGS: bookings are not essential but are recommended. To make bookings, CLICK HERE.WINE TASTING: R50 for 3 wines paired with chocolate. Or simply buy a bottle like their Merlot for R190 and cheese platter for R75.WHEN TO GO:  Summer or Winter however it has a magical feel during the winter months of May – November due to the cosy fire place.SERVICE: Friendly, informative and relaxed.RESTAURANT: There isn't a restaurant however there are other wine farms in the area which you can book for lunch like Rust en Vrede or Peter Falke.ACCOMMODATION: No.CHILD/PET FRIENDLY? I would not recommend pets to this venue however you can bring the kids.LARGER OR SMALL GROUPS? Best for 2 – 10 people.LOCATION: About a 50 minute drive from Cape Town in the Stellenbosch /  Helderberg region. Google MapOTHER RATINGS: CLICK HERE to view what others have rated on Trip Advisor.

Here is my experience:

The drive to the farm is pretty slow due to all the roadworks, but once you get past the security boom, you will love the scenery! There is plenty of parking outside which means a quick walk to the tasting room. There is plenty of outside seating overlooking the garden.Plus there is a jungle gym within eyesight...The inside area is SUPER cosy and I  enjoyed relaxing on the couch next to the fireplace. The staff are friendly and professional, you should feel well looked after. I also liked that the farm provided water without us even asking (water is good to cleanse the palate but also good to keep you hydrated and your teeth from staining) ;)If you are part of a large group, there is plenty of seating available. If you are planning a birthday, there is a function venue at the back complete with bar area. It would be wonderful for a Great Gatsby themed party. Vineyard tours can be booked with the farm and I would recommend you do this.Just a short drive up the road is neighboring farm, Vrede en Lust.So which farm will be next? :)x
