If it's a hidden gem you are looking for, look no further than Leipzig in the Nuy Valley about an hour's drive out of Cape Town. It's a popular destination for weekend getaways including weddings due to the accommodation on the estate.
The staff at Leipzig are extremely friendly. I had arrived on a particularly busy day and that is when I realised that the actual owner was pouring wine to help the staff.

The Tasting Room
The tasting room has a small indoor area and a very spacious outdoor area which resembles that of a festival. Kids can run freely and play on the jungle gym which is within eyesight of the tasting room.
The Wines
Leipzig has been making wines since as early as the 1890s. Just after World War 2, Queen Elizabeth actually tasted the "White Leipzig" and so this forms part of a great story.
Taste 5 wines for around R45. There are also some olive and cheese boards available.
I would highly recommend the Grand Master, White Leipzig and Pinotage.
The Accommodation
There are 17 en-suite rooms available on the estate each equipped with TV, air-conditioning, a writing desk
Enjoy a common area that is equipped with an "honesty bar" and fireplace. The function room is popular for wine club events, weddings and other special occasions and is set in an old wine cellar.
I had a great time at Leipzig and so I would recommend that you visit and why not stay the weekend too.
