Stellenbosch Wine Town Food and Wine Festival - 2 & 3 August 2024
It's time to mark your calendars for one of South Africa's most anticipated wine festival events of the year! Wine Town Stellenbosch, a seven-day celebration of Stellenbosch food and wine, will take place from July 29 to August 4. Early bird tickets are now available, so be sure to book yours soon!
The Highlight: Stellenbosch Wine Festival
The cornerstone of this grand celebration is the Stellenbosch Wine Festival, scheduled for August 2-3. First held in 1973, this wine festival is a must-attend event for wine festival enthusiasts. Hosted in the historic town hall, the festival features around 60 of South Africa's top wine producers offering more than 200 wines for tasting. Alongside the wine, you'll find a never-ending harvest table filled with seasonal and local bites.

If you've ever wanted to immerse yourself in the charm and elegance of Stellenbosch and its wines, this is the perfect occasion. The celebration encompasses a variety of family-friendly experiences organized by wine farms, restaurants, tour operators, and guesthouses in South Africa's wine capital. Activities include specialized wine tours, international conferences, regional tastings, winemaker lunches and dinners, and special offerings at wine bars and restaurants around town.
Focus-Tastings and Wine Varieties
Stellenbosch wines excel across various grape varieties, highlighted through focus tastings. Look forward to events like "Cabernet through the Ages" hosted by the Stellenbosch Cabernet Collective and specialized tastings of Chenin Blanc.
More About the Stellenbosch Wine Festival
This year's Stellenbosch Wine Festival will feature some of the biggest names in South African wine, including Simonsig, Alto, Spier, Rust en Vrede, Blaauwklippen, and Kleine Zalze. The food offerings, curated by celebrated chef Bertus Basson and prepared by Bertus Basson Restaurants Group Chef Adel Grewar, will include a harvest table, floating small plates with traditional flavours, and a buffet of desserts. Additionally, there will be top-notch live music to enhance the festive atmosphere.
