The blending of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir creates a captivating Cap Classique that dances on the palate.

What's more, is that Haute Cabriere has a super new restaurant boasting a panoramic view of the Franschhoek Wine Valley as your backdrop. The restaurant, known for its elegant and contemporary French-inspired cuisine, offers a menu that perfectly complements Haute Cabrière's exceptional Cap Classique wines. Whether you're indulging in a gourmet lunch or savouring a romantic dinner, the restaurant's warm and inviting ambience, coupled with impeccable service, creates an unforgettable dining experience.

Villiera Estate, situated in Stellenbosch, is not only known for its remarkable Cap Classique but also for its safari game drive. Here, you can embark on an exhilarating safari adventure, guided by knowledgeable rangers, to encounter a variety of indigenous wildlife with my favourite being the Giraffe.

This one-of-a-kind combination of wine tasting and safari game drive allows you to savour the flavours of Villiera's superb Cap Classique and connect with the natural beauty of the estate, making it an unforgettable and immersive experience for wine enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

Villiera offers a diverse range of Cap Classique wines, from classic Brut styles to vintage releases and innovative blends. This variety allows wine enthusiasts to explore different expressions of Cap Classique, catering to various preferences. Their Tradition Brut and Monro Brut are prime examples of their sparkling excellence.

Enjoy a Cap Classique Tasting of 6 for just R90 per person - Starlight Brut, Brut Natural, Tradition Brut, Tradition Brut Rosé, Monro Brut, Domaine Grier Brut. The game drive is from R300 per person.

They do not have a restaurant, so visit early and then go for lunch in the surrounding areas afterwards. Beyerskloof is just up the road and offers the most amazing Pinotage burgers!

Graham Beck: A Local Celebrity - Robertson

Located in the Robertson Wine Valley, this Cap Classique brand is synonymous with South Africa and can be found in almost every retailer across the country. Graham Beck's dedication to producing exceptional Cap Classique dates back to 1983 when the late Graham Beck himself recognized the potential for world-class sparkling wine in South Africa.

The tasting room is slightly outdated however the experience is still local and lekker. They have a range of unique pairing seasons like a "popcorn and bubbly" pairing so be sure to check what's on offer and book upfront.

Graham Beck's Blanc de Blancs is celebrated as one of the finest examples of its kind. Crafted exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, it embodies elegance, finesse, and a captivating depth of flavour. They also have a bone dry zero dosage Cap Classique which is absolutely a favourite! Graham Beck Cap Classique wines have received numerous prestigious awards and accolades, both nationally and internationally, a testament to their unwavering commitment to quality and consistency.

Taste 4 Cap Classique wines from just R90 per person. The popcorn pairing is R180 per person and they also offer an olive and olive oil pairing for R170 per person.

Be sure to book in advance. Note, that this tasting room does not offer a restaurant but they do have harvest platters from 200.

Charles Fox: Boutique Brilliance - Elgin

A hidden gem in the Elgin Valley, Charles Fox is where boutique brilliance meets Cap Classique craftsmanship. I was enchanted by the intimacy of their estate and the exquisite taste of their MCCs, we were greeted by the owners themselves! The Charles Fox Blanc de Blancs and Rosé captivated me with their depth of flavour and finesse. They have a beautiful balcony area overlooking the Elgin Valley!

Charles Fox is situated in the cool-climate Elgin Valley of South Africa. This region's high-altitude vineyards and unique terroir contribute distinctive flavours and acidity to the grapes, resulting in wines with a fresh and elegant character. As a boutique winery, Charles Fox can focus on attention to detail and artisanal winemaking. The limited production allows for meticulous care of the grapes and individualized winemaking techniques.

They are a family-run business so be sure to book in advance. Note, that this tasting room does not offer a restaurant.

J.C. Le Roux: A Cap Classique Journey - Stellenbosch

In the heart of Stellenbosch, J.C. Le Roux pays tribute to the South African tradition of sparkling wine. JC Le Roux is a South African brand with a rich history dating back to 1704. This long-standing heritage reflects the brand's commitment to producing Cap Classique wines that showcase the essence of South African terroir and winemaking traditions. Although this wine farm has a strong heritage, it is one of the most modern wineries in the Western Cape.

J.C. Le Roux Cap Classique

J.C. Le Roux has become a favourite among locals for their sweeter offerings with a very popular Nougat and Bubbly pairing. They also have a great museum area where you can learn how Cap Classique is made. J.C. Le Roux does have a restaurant but be sure to book in advance. Whether it's the bubbly charm of J.C. Le Roux La Chanson or the premium elegance of Scintilla, this winery knows how to make every moment sparkle.

Krone: Heritage Excellence - Tulbagh

Tulbagh's Krone Estate is located at Twee Jonge Gezellen, meaning “Two Young Companions". The underground cellar tour and Cap Classique tasting with views of the Tulbagh mountains was a truly unforgettable experience. The estate’s rich history, dating back to the 18th century, does not mean that this winery is not modern. Their beautiful wine-tasting terrace is furnished with the most modern seating arrangements and all Cap Classique is served professionally in Riedel Glasses.

Taste 4 cap classique wines out of Riedel glasses from R80 per person. They are extremely strict on booking times so be sure to book in advance and arrive on time. Note, that this tasting room does not offer a restaurant.

Simonsig: A Pioneering Legacy - Stellenbosch

Simonsig in Stellenbosch is not only steeped in history but also known for pioneering Cap Classique in South Africa. A visit to their picturesque estate and a taste of Kaapse Vonkel Brut Rosé will make you appreciate their role in sparkling wine history. The ultimate experience at this winery is of course their sebrage! You can book this and they will teach you how to do a proper sabrage!

Taste a range of Cap Classique wine for just R75 per person. Enquire about the sabrage experience to ensure they can arrange it upfront. Simonsig also has a range of platters from R205 and they do have a restaurant on site.

L'Ormorans: Decadent Bubbles and High Tea - Franschhoek

Each item is a work of culinary art, thoughtfully prepared to pair harmoniously with Lormarins' Cap Classique wines.

The high tea can be booked from R295 per person or taste 4 Cap Classique wines R80 per person. Please do book beforehand to secure your experience. There is a restaurant at this winery called Terra del Cappo.

If you are into classic cars, you can book a chauffeur to drive you around the estate in a vintage car and you can book a tour at the classic car museum.

Steenberg: A Crown Jewel - Constantia

At Steenberg, the pleasure of Cap Classique extends to the dining table. The estate boasts a super restaurant where you can savour culinary creations that harmonize flawlessly with their sparkling wines. From delectable seafood dishes to elegant afternoon tea, each dining experience is a symphony of flavours designed to enhance your Cap Classique tasting adventure.

Canto: Sweet delights - Durbanville

No Cap Classique tasting journey is complete without exquisite pairings. Canto Wine Estate understands this well and offers a selection of culinary experiences that complement their sparkling wines flawlessly. From artisanal cheese platters, pizza and a wonderful macaron pairing. Each bite enhances the nuances of Canto's Cap Classique, creating a symphony of flavours.

Taste 4 Cap Classique for R85 per person or try their Macaron pairing for R140 per person.

Note, that bookings beforehand are a must. Canto does have a restaurant and is very kid-friendly.
